Addiction Services

Continuum of Care

Patients who want to recover from an addiction need a treatment program that works. The High Point Regional Health System views addiction seriously–as a progressive, chronic illness that can be fatal if not treated. Patient recovery begins with medically supervised drug and/or alcohol cessation accompanied by a comprehensive treatment plan that emphasizes relapse prevention and aftercare planning.

For those with specific addiction problems, High Point Behavioral Health offers outpatient programs that provide intensive counseling and group therapy.

Our doctors and nurses place significant emphasis on helping patients learn to identify relapse triggers and develop strategies to overcome their addiction. Treatment plans that address the relapse process including changes in behaviors that caused the relapse and teaching new coping skills can help the patient to establish a solid recovery foundation.

Day - Intensive Outpatient Program

Three hours per day, five days per week, this program provides structured group therapy, treatment education and continuing care planning to assist clients on their way to recovery. Treatment plans are individualized, based on patient needs.

Evening - Intensive Outpatient Program

Two hours per day, four evenings per week, this program is specifically beneficial for patients who are employed during the day and want/need to keep working while participating in a treatment program. Length of program attendance is variable and is based on patient progress and motivation.
